Our friends from Portsmouth, Makemake Brewing Company, are known for their fruited sours and dank DIPAs but we both wanted to experiment with something a little different. We've "pumped up the jam" collaborating on this Fruited IPA.
We started this IPA with a smooth base of extra pale malt, wheat, naked oats, flaked oats and sprinkled Cryo Pop™ into the whirlpool, to elevate the flavours of the fruit additions. Both sour and sweet cherries balance and bring a gentle tartness, whilst half a tonne of organic strawberry puree at the end of fermentation brings the vibrant colour and that punch of jammy goodness. A dry hop of Belma and Citra brings zesty notes of grapefruit and lime, giving this dangerously drinkable IPA a depth of bright and zingy summer fruit flavour.
