Mills Brewing - Bière de garde, 6.3%

This is our third edition of Bière de Garde.

It was produced from a blend of four barrels, from four different beers, produced in June 2018, March 2019, August 2019 and July 2020.

The contrasting brews varied in colour and production technique. Some used a turbid mash, others an ale mash, with colours varying from from pale to brown. Both aged and fresh hops were used in the boils. They each fermented in a range of fairly neutral barrels, allowing the flavour of the malt, hops and fermentations to shine. The resulting blend is dry and toasty, with balancing acidity and funk.

This particular release was bottled in April 2022 and has a best before date of April 2032 – perfect to age.
